A fine fat bullock belonging to Mr Wm. Macfarlane of Craigrothie has died from anthrax. The case was duly reported to the Local Authority, and every precaution taken to prevent the spread of the disease.

At Leeds Assizes yesterday Arthur Rober Lake, so icitor, of Wakefield, was found guilty on nine indictments for misappropriat ng trust money, amounting in all to over £2000, and sentenced to five years' penal ser vitude on each count, sentences to run con currently.
