Although World War II ended in 1945 and the draft paused with it, the Selective Service Act of 1948 revived the military draft. These records can help you to understand more about your ancestors during the longest peacetime conscription in the nation’s history. The information in each record can prove the key to identifying your ancestors in our other collections and continuing your family history research.
